120+ patents. One national stage.
On October 1, NuCoat Founder & CEO Jodi Schwendimann will speak at the 4th Annual US Inventor Conference. She joins inventors from across the country, along with judges, patent office leadership, and members of Congress. The two-day event opens September 30 on Capitol Hill and wraps up October 1 at the USPTO's Madison Building, just outside Washington, DC.
Three decades of invention
Jodi has been inventing for more than 30 years and holds more than 120 patents. Many of those patents are part of why the apparel industry moved toward digital customization: the on-demand, full-color decoration that print shops, brands, and decorators now depend on every day.
That work proved valuable enough that a competitor took the technology. A federal jury found the infringement willful.
Her message in Washington
Real consequences for infringement encourage innovation. When taking someone else's invention actually costs something, disputes get settled at the negotiating table. They don't drag through the courts for years, and inventors can put their energy into the next idea instead of defending the last one.
Why it matters to the people who print
Protecting invention isn't only an inventor's concern. The films, inks, powders, and processes our customers rely on exist because someone put years into developing them. A system that rewards that investment is one that keeps delivering better tools to the whole industry.
